Assault Lily: Lily Collection 2023
Assault Lily: Lily Collection 2023 • Odaiba Girls' School with Ludvico Private Girls' Academy (アサルトリリィ「リリィコレクション2023 御台場女学校 with 私立ルドビコ女学院」) was a live theater event created by AZONE International and acus in collaboration with the Ludvico Private Girls' Academy theatre troupe.
The event was originally set to be held in April of 2022, however, multiple performances had to be canceled due to several of the stage actresses being diagnosed with COVID-19.[1][2][3] Ultimately, it was decided that the 2022 event would be cancelled entirely,[4] and in November of 2022, it was announced that Lily Collection would be held in August of the following year at the Otemachi Mitsui Hall in Chiyoda, Tokyo.[5]
Premise
[edit | edit source]The event primarily focuses on live song and dance performances, similar to the Assault Lily x Ludvico Private Girls' Academy LIVE SHOW previously held in September of 2022. Unlike its predecessor, however, Lily Collection also adopts elements of theatre to its performance. All stage acts perform completely in-character, enacting several short skits as the intermissions between each musical performance.
The performance itself follows a loose storyline, where the twins Funada Kiito and Funada Ui organized the event in hopes of raising the spirits of the citizens they fight to protect. To make for an even more exciting event, Ui invited several Lilies from Ludvico Private Girls' Academy to join them. However, Ui herself ends up absent, as she mistakenly sets off to several different places across the world due to misinterpreting Kiito's directions on where they would be holding the event. And so, together with the Lilies of Ludvico, Odaiba's Legions Hronesnæsse and Heorot Saints carry on with the performance by themselves while they await for Ui to return.

Production
[edit | edit source]Production of Lily Collection was led by both AZONE International and pius, with Obanazawa Ken'ei (尾花沢軒栄), the author of the Assault Lily series, in charge of the primary draft. Sakuragi Sakaya (桜木さやか) of the Ludvico Private Girls' Academy theatre troupe was in charge of the screenplay and the stage direction for the Ludvico cast, while Sano Mizuki (佐野瑞樹) of Bushiroad Music was charged with stage direction for the Odaiba Girls' School cast. Hayashi Shuji (林修司) of Ludvico Private Girls' Academy served as the executive producer.[6]
All songs performed by the stage acts were composed by Tani Naoki (谷ナオキ), who was also responsible for the event's music direction. Todo Miyu (藤堂光結) served as the chief choreographer.[6]
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- The storyline portrayed in the event is said to take place after The Empathy Phenomenon, but before White Resistance ~The Promise's Path~. This would make Lily Collection the first chronological appearance of Takatori Natalie Towa.
- Curiously, Seto Veronica Ichika still appears wearing her Rose Greave, despite the CHARM being first shown in The Promise's Path.
- While the event's storyline mostly consists of comedic skits interspersed between the musical performances, it does features two sequences that appear to implicate the main continuity. The first shows the full conversation between Nagasawa Yuki and Kishimoto Maria Mirai regarding the former's falling out with the Funada Sisters, and the second portrays an encounter between Mirai and Kuroki Francisca Yuria shortly after the latter was made into a Boosted Lily.
- Throughout the event's duration, all of the Odaiba Girls' School Lilies wield their respective Jötunn-Schwerts.
